Hertzog Bissett

In 2000 Hertzog enrolled at the Potchefstroom University for Higher Education (PU vir CHO) to studyB.Sc. In 2003 he obtained his B.Sc. degree and in 2004 his Honours degree in Chemistry at theNorth-west University. In 2009 he obtained his M.Sc degree in the field of membrane technology.At the start of 2009 Hertzog joined Necsa (The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation) working inthe Plasma Technology group obtaining knowledge in the use and operation of various plasmasystems (“hot” and “cold” plasmas) and high temperature systems such as inductive couplingheating. Hertzog was also part of the Uranium Chemistry group at Necsa looking at various methodsof uranium dissolution, extraction and purification. In 2012 Dr. Bissett obtained his Ph.D. degreealso from the North-west University for the study “Membrane based separation of nitrogen,tetrafluoromethane and hexafluoropropylene”.

Currently, Dr. Bissett is part of the Nuclear Materials group within Applied Chemistry at Necsaworking on various projects include the AMI-Nuclear Materials Development Network especiallyrelating to Spheroidisation.
